And it all began with a book...

To begin, Enchanted Scriptorium is a small, women-owned bookshop locally owned and operated in Colorado, founded in March of 2026. But some stories begin long before we realize we're part of them.

Ours began in 2002, when Ashley became Peyton's nanny. Among the many memories we made together were the countless books Ashley read aloud, nurturing a love of stories that would stay with us both. (The specific book may be worth mentioning. Although neither of us know the title, we do know that there is a unicorn on the cover—or some sort of white horse.)

The years passed, but our friendship never faded. What began with childhood storytimes grew into a shared love of books, authors, and the communities that form around them.

More than twenty years later, that friendship became the foundation of Enchanted Scriptorium.

Today, we're bringing that same love of reading into unexpected places, creating opportunities for readers to discover new stories, authors to connect with their audiences, and communities to gather around books.

And to think, it all started with a bedtime story.

By connecting readers with stories, supporting authors, and creating opportunities for literary gatherings, we're making books a natural part of the places people already love.

What Makes Us Different

We’re more than a collection of bookshelves. We celebrate independent authors alongside beloved favorites, bring writers and readers together through signings and literary events, and share our love of books at pop-up markets and community gatherings. Our growing online catalog highlights independent authors and literary merchandise, giving readers even more ways to discover something special.

From a chance discovery over coffee to a conversation with an author, we believe the best literary experiences often happen when you least expect them.

What's Next for Us?

The next chapter of Enchanted Scriptorium is already taking shape! We're looking forward to bringing our wandering shelves into more cafés, wineries, breweries, and community spaces while continuing to grow our online bookshop and literary partnerships.

We're also developing our Indie Book Box, a curated reading experience that pairs books from independent authors with story-inspired treats, keepsakes, and a little unexpected magic.

As we grow, our goal remains the same: to bring books, authors, and readers together in meaningful and memorable ways.
